Climate Bonus 2022 Power of Attorney

Since the beginning of September, the climate bonus has been paid out in Austria for the first time. The climate bonus will be additionally increased to € 500 due to the general inflation. All people who have their main residence in Austria for at least six months in 2022 will receive the climate bonus - regardless of citizenship and age. The payment is already in full swing. By 21.09.2022, 4.5 million people have already had the climate bonus transferred directly to their account. People who have not received payment to their account will be sent an RSa letter these days, which must be delivered to the recipient:in only at his/her own hand. How do I get the climate bonus if I am not at home at the time of delivery? Is there a climate bonus power of attorney?

Anyone who has missed the postman with the 500-euro envelope can generally only pick up the letter in person at the post office. The climate bonus authorisation provided by the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology is only valid for pick-up directly at the home address. It is not possible to pick up the RSa letter at a post office. This is only possible in person or with a notarial power of attorney.

If you are not at home or cannot make it to the post office in person, you can also authorise someone to pick up the letter. For the postal worker to accept the Klimabonus power of attorney, however, it must be notarised. The postal worker may not accept a Klimabonus power of attorney without certification.
