Verification

Verification using eID is carried out via an interface provided by the Federal Computing Centre.

Verification via video onboarding is currently carried out by specialised companies, namely WebID Solutions GmbH, Unter den Linden 10, 10117 Berlin, Germany, and IDnow GmbH, Auenstraße 100, 80469 Munich, Germany. From 1 April 2026, verification will be carried out exclusively by WebID Solutions GmbH.

notariaty provides the partner notary with the evidence data of persons from the respective verification. The evidence data consists at least of:

• First name and surname of the end user;
• The date of birth of the end user;
• A photograph of the end user's face.
  

If video onboarding was selected as the verification method, the following is also transmitted:

• An audio recording of the identity verification call with the end user;
• A screenshot of the presentation of the front of the official photo ID or its data page of the end user from the video identification procedure; 
• A screenshot of the presentation of the back of the official photo ID or its data page of the end user from the video identification procedure.

Hint:
Existing qualified electronic signatures from Swisscom, which were issued at a time when the video identification procedure was handled exclusively by IDnow GmbH, can of course continue to be used without restriction in the future. There will therefore be no changes to everyday use for existing users.
